The Samaritan Inn Thrift Store - Shop and Volunteer to fight Homelessness

The Samaritan Inn in McKinney, TX has two thrift stores that help fund running the Inn and provide a low-cost source of quality clothing and household items for the community. The Thrift Store 2 sells clothing and shoes for adults and kids. This location is at: 1330 N. McDonald St. and open 9 am - 5 pm Tuesday thru Saturday. The second location, Friends of the Inn Thrift store, is close to the first and located at 103 E. University Dr. This store sells household items and furniture. These two stores have a very high quality of goods with name brand clothing and accessories. You will find kids toys, high-chairs and baby accessories as well. Find great deals with read and green tag items for as little as 50 cents to $1! The Thrift Store 2 runs specials throughout the season on clothing and seasonally will hold a sidewalk sale as the seasons change.

Along with local volunteers and donations, the Samaritan Inn is supported by United Way of Dallas. Interested in donating gently used clothing or household items? Donations can only be accepted 10 am to 2 pm Tuesday thru Saturday and the Friends of the Inn location.

Looking for a location to volunteer in the McKinney or North Texas area? The Samaritan Inn thrift stores provide a welcoming place to volunteer for individuals and groups. You can earn community service hours or credit for school. Saturday shifts are available but may book early. Volunteers at both locations are needed to keep the stores clean and organized. I have volunteered with the Samaritan Thrift store 2 a couple of times and have enjoyed being able to contribute to the Shelter. With the help of volunteers, the thrift stores keep costs low so as much revenue as possible from the store can go directly to support the Samaritan Inn and the services the organization provides. Services include the food pantry, running of the shelter, services provided to families that help before, during and after homelessness. The Samaritan Inn is comprehensive in its services that help families prevent or resolve homeless situations as well as providing shelter during homelessness.
